West Egg, Long Island, New York. 1922. Nick Carraway has returned from World War One and rented a small cottage on the bay. Next door is the mansion of the mysterious Jay Gatsby, a millionaire who invites the old rich and the new to grand parties held on his palatial estate. Though, seldom seen at these revels, Gatsby seems to be looking for the arrival of a guest he hopes will appear through his open invitations. Nick meets Gatsby and soon learns that this wealthy stranger is fresh to the area himself, and the object of his obsession is Daisy Buchanan - Nick's cousin. Daisy lives across the bay with her husband Tom, in the more fashionable East Egg. Through Nick, Gatsby finally meets Daisy again, five years after their interrupted love affair. Romantic illusions and all things golden beckon Jay Gatsby, despite Nick's warning that "You can't go home again". What follows in this sterling Jazz Era tale is tragic and ordained.

The Greatest Screen Adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel.
