ADVENTURE...SPECTACLE...SAVAGE LOVE!

Set in the Dutch East Indies, at the end of the nineteenth century, “Fair Wind to Java” is a rollicking adventure afloat with smugglers, pirates, sea battles, stolen diamonds and a certain earth-shattering volcanic eruption of an island named Krakatoa.

Fred MacMurray plays Capt. Boll, the courageous captain of the Gerrymander, an American merchant vessel, looking for a sunken Dutch ship containing 10,000 precious diamonds. Unfortunately, he's not the only one. Robert Douglas exudes a slithering charm as a two-faced pirate out for his own piece of the booty. Vera Ralston is Kim Kim, a lovely palace dancer turned Chinese slave, who may know the whereabouts of the lost diamonds.

Boll's ship, with Kim Kim on board, and the dangerous pirates all converge on a mysterious island, searching for the diamonds, when a huge eruption upsets their plans and threatens their very lives.

Is this the end of their hope of ever recovering the diamonds? Will love prevail as the world around crumbles?
