The story of Sante Kimes (played brilliantly by Mary Tyler Moore), a con artist, thief and murderer, and her troubled son and partner in crime, Kenny (Gabriel Olds). Sante and Kenny Kimes were convicted of murdering Irene Silverman (Jean Stapleton) in a scheme to steal her $7 million Manhattan home. They have also been indicted in the 1998 murder of a business associate. As one judge says, Sante was: “a sociopath of unremitting malevolence.”

Sante believes she deserves whatever she wants, having struggled through a horrible childhood and a string of abusive men. She’s the type of small-time swindler who has a quick comeback for any inquiry or accusation and has deluded herself into believing her own lies.
