Meet Marshall (Alan Alda) and Kermit (Doug McClure), two divorced fathers from opposite sides of the tracks. Until recently - alimony and Wednesday visits with their young sons were all they had in common; now they’re having the time of their lives – with each other’s ex-wife!
Marshall Barnett is an affluent attorney who craves a down to earth woman with sex appeal rather than a pretentious and patronizing “artistic soul” like his ex-wife Lois (Barbara Feldon). Kermit Holvey is a hard-working welder who’d like to find someone more enlightening than Patti (Connie Stevens), his former mate and so-called “brainless beauty”. Enticed by the type of girl he never had, Marshall secretly begins seeing Patti, while Lois initiates a clandestine affair with Kermit. That’s when the fun – and the trouble - begins! Before long, everyone involved discovers that dream lovers can make for some very rude awakenings.
Don’t miss this all-star cast in a biting adult comedy of half-truths, half-lies and total confusion in the war zone of male/female relationships. PLAYMATES – fooling around was never so much fun!
“A comedy for changing times.”
